Mateo, living on the island of Ios with his family, has a passion for turning raw materials into art. Starting with stone decorations, he expanded to crystals and semi-precious stones, studying their properties and collecting different species found on Ios, such as obsidian and amethyst. To work with these hard materials, he acquired tools from an Austrian factory. Encouraged by the owner of the factory, Mateo set up a workshop at home, studying and experimenting for three years. His dedication led to the creation of his first diamond, earning him praise from toolmakers. During this time, he deepened his understanding and enjoyment of the transformation of crystals.
