The Archeological Museum was founded in 1999 and is housed in Amiradakios Mansion in Chora, a neoclassical building of the traditional architecture of the 20th century. It includes four halls where temporary exhibitions are hosted, audiovisual equipment, and the findings of the excavations of the Antiquities Ephorate at the Skarkos ancient settlement and the Ancient Town of Ios. Among the exhibits are included clay jars, tools, animal bones, Minoan mugs, jewelry, weapons, a complete grave from the cemetery of Skarkos, sculptures, and inscriptions. In the courtyard, you will find statues and a sarcophagus.
